We stayed here for one night while hiking the west highland way. It was exactly what we needed: a nice, warm, quiet and cozy place with a warm welcome from the owner. We would for sure come here again.
I really enjoyed living here and would have liked to stay longer. The house is situated right in front of the mountain and offers a view of a sheep meadow on the other side. The rooms look like a cabin in the woods but everything is extremely high-quality and built to the highest standard, the whole room feels premium. It is warm and dry, the beds are cosy, and the host was very friendly, offering lots of good tips for onward travel if needed. I particularly liked how everything is so well thought out; the lamps and the storage space are in the right place, there is a hairdryer, and the beds can be moved, etc. It is centrally located, and the mountain, as well as restaurants and a shop, are quickly reachable by foot. 12/10 highly recommend!
Great little room( we were in the disability friendly room), exceptionally well thought out. The option to use the very well equipped self catering kitchen is a bonus. Very comfortable stay.
The room was amazing! The innovation and comfort of each element was amazing. Thorsten and Barbara were the most wonderful hosts with so many recommendations, many of which were within walking distance of the lodge. There’s a bunch to do around and plenty of restaurants, as well as being pretty close to Glasgow if you feel like stopping down. Thank you Birchwood Guest Lodge!
We slept really well here, and the host was very helpful with tips about the local area. The room was quirky, with fold out wooden beds, but they were really comfortable. We pushed them together to make a sort of double.
Only stayed one night ,but the place was immaculate, the bed was so comfy ,a lovely hot shower after a long walk and a very friendly host Had everything I needed and the kitchen also looked well kitted out as well
Stayed here on the first night of doing the West Highland Way. Barbara was lovely and very welcoming when we arrived. Room was clean, bed was comfy and the shower was great. Room temperature was perfect too. Cups with tea, coffee and biscuits also in the room. Along with a hairdryer. Will definitely be back, thank you for a comfortable stay.
A very lovely place to stay. Friendly host and great location. Room had everything we needed. And the kitchen area next door provides everything else. Owner gave us a great tip how to drive up to the highlands the next day, taking the scenic route out of the trossachs instead of the fast route. This turned out to be gold, we had the best drive ever, so beautiful. Very happy he told us about this. Would definitely go back to stay here.
